The exhibition Carol Bove / Carlo Scarpa brought together sculptures by American artist Carol Bove (b. 1971) and rarely seen sculptural experiments and exhibition furniture by Venetian architect and exhibition designer Carlo Scarpa (1906-78).

Produced in collaboration with Museion, Bolzano and Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens, Deurle, this exhibition investigated how the ways in which objects and artworks are displayed gives them meaning.

The pairing reveals how Bove and Scarpa are bound by their concern for the encounter with sculpture and an attention to materials. At the centre is a new setting by Bove for a series of objects made by Scarpa for the 1968 Venice Biennale. Alongside this, a selection of Bove's sculptures made between 2003 and 2013 join museum vitrines and easels by Scarpa, as well as laboratory tests for his masterwork, the Brion Tomb.

Presented simultaneously in English, Italian, Dutch and German, this publication features an introduction by Lisa Le Feuvre (Head of Sculpture Studies, the Henry Moore Institute) and the following essays:
