Duel (No. 12)

Description

Duel documents the results of Kerstin Mey's Henry Moore Institute Fellowship, where she invited the artists Tracy Mackenna and Karla Sachse to respond to each other, within a given space, context and time frame. For five days, Gallery 4 at the Institute became a laboratory, a receptive space, in which these artists 'dueled' through their working practices.

This essay was written to accompany the exhibition Duel: Tracy Mackenna and Karla Sachse (31 March - 7 April 1996, Gallery 4).
