From Navels to Nipples Henry Moore

Giorgio Sadotti has drawn from the library of the Henry Moore Institute to create a book centred on the making of circular holes.

Sadotti removed circles, their radius dictated by the distance between navel and closest nipple, from a series of images. The remaining pictures, which ‘framed’ the hole, were published in this book, while the removed circles were displayed in the 2006 exhibition Giorgio Sadotti: From Navels to Nipples Henry Moore in Gallery 4.

The range of images chosen by Sadotti includes artists such as Hans Bellmer, Salvador Dalí, Allen Jones, Yves Klein and Auguste Rodin, alongside some of the major recent surveys of the body in art.
