Hammer, Anvil, Stirrup is an artist's publication made by the fifteen sculptors of YSI Sculpture Network 2025: Anne-Marie Atkinson, Luke Beech, Grace Clifford, Henry Cottam, Joseph Goddard, Aliyah Hussain, Lucie Kordacova, Alana Lake, Simon Le Ruez, Molly Newham, Simon Raines, Rhubarbs, Ailish Treanor, Chanelle Windas and Dawn Woolley.
The publication is the legacy of a one-day exhibition of the same name, co-curated by the artists and staged in the Henry Moore Institute Research Library in December 2025. Taking its starting point from Phyllida Barlow's Objects for a Library (1995), the intervention Barlow made when the library first opened, the group placed sculptural gestures, objects and responses among the shelves and reading tables of one of the world's most significant sculpture libraries. The title refers to the three smallest bones in the human body, the hammer, anvil and stirrup of the inner ear, which the artists took as a way of describing their four months together: making and listening, impact and resistance, movement and connection.
Designed by Ashleigh Armitage, with photographs by James Clarkson and texts by sculptor Olivia Bax and Jane Bhoyroo, Principal Keeper, Leeds Art Gallery, the publication is produced in an unbound edition of 100 copies with a hand screen-printed cover. Each cover is printed by hand, so no two copies are identical.
YSI Sculpture Network is Yorkshire Sculpture International's professional development programme for artists working with sculpture across Yorkshire, delivered by Henry Moore Institute, Leeds Art Gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The publication is supported by Yorkshire Visual Arts Network (YVAN) and the Newspaper Club.

UK delivery
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the size and weight of the item.
We aim to ship orders within 3 working days via Royal Mail.
Please be aware that we ship from two locations, Leeds and
Hertfordshire, and therefore your order may not arrive together. There
may also be two postage fees, which will be clearly displayed at the
checkout stage of your purchase.
International delivery
We do not ship internationally.
Custom print orders
Custom prints are made to order by our partners King and McGaw, so take a little longer to prepare.
King and McGaw aim to dispatch custom prints within 2-4 weeks.
Refunds and returns

if you have any queries regarding returning damaged or faulty items, or
have simply changed your mind about a purchase. We are happy to refund
any items that are returned in saleable condition and in their original
packaging.
For items returned that are not damaged or faulty, the buyer is
responsible for the cost of postage. With proof of purchase items can be
returned in person at our on-site locations.
