Description

In the culmination of his fellowship at the Henry Moore Institute, artist, writer and curator Mark Wilsher experimented with images and texts relating to abstract sculpture of the 1960s and 70s. Taking photographic reproductions of sculptures from the magazines of their time, Wilsher created a series of ‘over-drawings’, which modify and recontextualise the works depicted.

These new works, starting with photos of sculptures by artists such as David Evison, Roger Harmer, Peter Hide, Bernard Schottlander, William Tucker and Brian Wall, engage with this ‘middle-generation’ of sculptors in an attempt at inter-generational conversation.

With an interview between Mark Wilsher and Jon Wood (Research Curator, the Henry Moore Institute) and an essay exploring ‘Developments in the Sixties and Seventies’ by artist Barry Martin, originally written in March 1977.

There may be signs of age or yellowing to the pages as these are original copies from the publishing year. This is reflected in the pricing of the text.
