Vittorio Messina: IL LIMITE PER UN CANTO NOTTURNO

The "Galerie am Fischmarkt" in Erfurt presents an installation and some sculptures by Vittorio Messina (Florence/Rome), which merge with the exhibition spaces, reinterpreting them; translating images and sensations perceived on site, questioning history and the present.

The frenetic construction activity visible throughout the city of Erfurt; the renovations and restorations of dilapidated historical buildings and districts, the heterogeneous and cumbersome mix of fences, materials and construction machinery, the constant emergence of new building sites, conspicuous signs of the awakening of the ancient medieval "capital" of Thuringia, serve as a reference for this intervention by Vittorio Messina, which develops in an elongated and windowless space.

The reflection on the surrounding spaces and the search for an expression capable of translating the sensations experienced materialise in the "limits of a night song".
