Wonder: Painted Sculpture from Medieval England

Description

Wonder is the first exhibition to concentrate exclusively on the painted sculpture of medieval England, exploring the combination of belief and disbelief that characterised sculpture of this age.

Drawing on Norwegian sources as well as English abbeys and churches, Wonder brings together the best examples of late medieval polychrome sculpture.

With an introduction by Penelope Curtis (Curator of the Henry Moore Institute), two essays and an in-depth catalogue of exhibits put together by David Park, Paul Williamson, Sharon Cather, Richard K. Morris, Julian Luxford, Unn Plahter and Svein A. Wiik.
